1989 Tartan 40

Annapolis, Maryland

$125,000

The timeless lines of this Sparkman & Stephens design ensures that the Tartan 40 will always be in demand.  This Tartan is nearly the last one built.  Algonquin has many upgrades that include a more powerful 55 horsepower engine (2004) and a new main and jib in ('07).  The center board option makes her a great boat for cruising the ICW as well as the islands.  She is hauled out every winter, bottom painted 5/11, no blisters.  A solid boat ready for a new owner.

Accommodations

A big, comfortable V-berth is forward with shelves outboard and storage below.  A large hanging locker and several drawers provided more storage.  Next aft to port is the large had compartment with a S/S sink, vanity, marine toilet, shower and more storage.  The main saloon is airy and open with an L-shaped dining area to port (converts to a double berth), a straight settee/berth to starboard and storage outboard and below.  The bulkhead mounted dining table folds up and out of the way when not in use.  The nav table is ingeniously tucked aft of the galley, facing aft, with an opening port to allow communication with the helmsman.  To starboard is another stateroom with a large double berth, small seat, hanging locker and several drawers.  Two (2) large overhead hatches and  ten (10) opening ports allow plenty of light and air below.
